Week 155: Glen Rose, TX

Jan. 16 - 22, 2022

Sunday, we both slept late.  Elard spent the day washing his ski clothes getting them ready to be stored.  We plan to run back to Bossier this week to drop off his big ski bag and boots.

Monday, we didn't do a lot. We decided to go to Bossier on Tuesday.

Tuesday, it took us a couple of tries to get on the road this morning, LOL. We left the motorhome three times, but we finally got underway.  We had a great dinner with the family.  We went out to Texas Roadhouse and it was good, inexpensive, and Keto friendly.  Such fun, we laughed and talked and enjoyed each others company.

Wednesday, we had breakfast with David at the Waffle House by the track before heading back to Texas. We made it home early enough to get a walk in. I found that there is a Babe's Chicken Dinner House in Granbury so that is where we had dinner. I just love their fried chicken. It is supposed to get COLD here for the next few days so I'm glad we got our walk in. I look forward to heading further south next week to get out of the cold.

Thursday, I ordered some blood work to get a baseline to compare to after I've completed a few months of Keto eating. It worries me a little because Keto it is so high in fat.  That goes against everything we've been told for the last 30 years. I managed to get the blood drawn in Granbury and should get the results in a few days. So far the Keto recipes I've tried have been good and I haven't had a lot of cravings. I use an APP called My Fitness Pal to track calories, macros, exercise, etc.  It is easy to use, they have a free version and paid version.  I've used the free version since about 2015 but last year I upgraded to the paid version. Truth be told the free version has nearly everything the paid one does, I'm not sure if the paid version is really worth it. I've lost 5 pounds since I started on the 8th, that's about a half pound per day. That seems fast considering I'm eating about 500 calories more per day than usual. We'll see.

Friday and Saturday, we really didn't do much of anything.  The weather is just awful and I really just didn't want to get out much; lows in the 20's, highs in the 40's. So we just enjoyed the new Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett, and the Amazon Prime series, The Expanse.  I can recommend both.
