Week 151: Ashdown, AR

Dec. 19 - Dec. 25, 2021

Sunday, we didn't do much of anything. The weather is kind of nasty.  We did watch the premier of 1883. It looks like it is going to be good but I don't want to subscribe to ANOTHER streaming service.

Monday, Willie and David came up to Texarkana. David came to the Red River Army Depot a few times when he was in the National Guard. We managed to get on base to visit two lake recreation areas on base.  We weren't allowed to tour the base but it was cool to see where he had served. We enjoyed lunch at Naaman's Championship BBQ and then toured Texarkana a little.  Its the only town in America that has a post office that sits on two states.  Most things were closed but we visited the only post office that sits in two states. We enjoyed the day.

Tuesday, we moved back to Millwood Landing.  We were hoping to get a site up on the hill area to maybe get a better cell signal. Unfortunately none were available and we got the same spot we left last week. Well, we won't be here for too much longer and we will survive the lack of signal.  It is nearly impossible to make a call without dropping and the network is really slow.  Oh the trials and tribulations we must endure (LOL).

Wednesday and Thursday we did not do much more than the household chores.  I was going to sew a bit but couldn't quite motivate myself to do so.

Friday, we drove down to Willie and David's for Christmas Eve dinner. We enjoyed cooking and breaking bread. She made prime rib roast and it was wonderful.  We are trying to get as much visiting done as we can before Elard and I head west.

Saturday, we drove over to Tallulah to spend Christmas Day with Elard's family.  Flo and Ronnie made gumbo, man was it good.  We got to visit with his aunt and some of his cousins. The last time we were there was Thanksgiving 2018.  I redeemed myself by taking the Purple salad (Coca Cola Salad) that I had forgotten in 2018.

A Very Merry Christmas Everyone!
